opt-in for mind-reading
Jan. 21st, 2025 02:27 pmAs the title states, Satan has the ability to read minds, though it's only ever shown at surface-level current thoughts, instead of being able to deeply delve into someone's inner machinations. All the same, please let me know if you're interested in playing with this! He'll mostly use it to be a smart-ass or comment on some stupid shit, really.

Name: Satan Door: left Canon: What in Hell is Bad? Canon Point: the end of Chapter 6! Age: unknown, appears to be in his mid-twenties or older. (definitely very, very old, however) Appearance: here! History: To be honest, a lot of Satan's past is unknown as of writing this app: what we do know is that, just like the other Deadly Sins in his version of Hell, he was created and essentially planted by an eventually absentee God to bloom into the very personification of his designated sin, wrath. We also know that he essentially built Gehenna, his country, up from at least a ragtag, unorganised/unmilitarised patch of land, since it's noted that he drew followers to him as he scouted for devils to join him, and a boot camp to get Gehenna's army up off the ground was started at least 100 years after he became/assigned himself king. The most solid history we have is that shared with his right-hand man, Sitri; at some point, before Gehenna's military was truly organised but after Satan became king, he travelled out into no-man's land on a rumour. A rumour that there was a monster killing everything that came near it, angel or devil. He indeed found the beast, a beautiful, bestial devil who instantly attempted to attack him; however, Satan wrestled the devil into submission, proclaimed his dominion over it as the victor of the battle (despite the devil still biting and gnawing at him), and proceeded to tear his own heart out of his chest. Which looks like a miniature version of himself curled up in the foetal position, but I digress. He fed this wild devil blood directly from his heart, thus sharing his memories with him in turn, and the devil, named Sitri from then on, accepted him fully as his master and king. Then, to train Sitri into a devil worthy of being his right-hand man, Satan gave him to another Deadly Sin, Leviathan, who coveted Sitri like nothing else (as the sin of Envy). However, Sitri refused to stay with Leviathan, and although he stayed in his country for 100 years to train and become tamed, he requested 90-something times to be allowed to return to Gehenna, and Satan's side. Satan was also the first devil to answer Solomon's summons, and to run to the aide of his descendant, the protagonist of What in Hell is Bad, in the current canon time period. Both times were due to the attacks of angels; on Solomon's people, and on the MC's life (as they were the last surviving descendant of Solomon). Although Satan was initially too late to save the MC's childhood best friend, who died defending them from angel attack, he revived the dead best friend in exchange for the MC to break Solomon's past contracts with the 72 devils (plus the Seven Deadly Sins), in order to allow them to become more powerful and finally beat the angelic host once and for all. During their travels together, Satan, along with his highest-ranking nobles, protected the MC from incessant angel attacks, uncovering horrendous abominations of nature made by the angels from the flesh of his people, and helped save them from one such monstrosity, a young devil girl named Nina (and her angelic lover, Samael). While Solomon travelled all over Hell and Heaven, and became beloved by angels, devils, and God alike, he's noted to have spent most of his time in Gehenna, where he said that, 'There are no devils as fun as the devils in Gehenna.' Similarly, Solomon's descendant may travel all over Hell, but thus far, Gehenna serves as their home base, and Satan their primary protector. CR AU (Optional): Personality: Positive Trait: Courage. The very first time we even see Satan, he's leaping in to protect two veritable strangers. In fact, he defines himself as being the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, the one to always lead the charge and get anywhere first. Although this also manifests in other, less positive ways, it also means that he has to be braver than everyone else, unable to waver in the face of a threat. He's the first warrior on the battlefield, the heralding cry of rage, and if he's not brave, then the rest of Gehenna will fall. It's the one thing Satan clings to, about himself. That he values his life for who and what he/it is, but that he's willing to give it all the same for the people he cares about. He faces down Lucifer, the Morningstar, the strongest of the angels, even though there's no chance that he could win without the other Deadly Sins present. He throws himself in headfirst, gets covered in blood and wounds, and tears his own heart out, all for the betterment of those around him, and his beloved Gehenna. Negative Trait: Ill-tempered. Theeeen there's the wrath. Of course there's the wrath. If Satan doesn't get his way, if someone tries to talk down to him because of his (completely average and healthy) height, if someone ignores him or doesn't treat him with due respect, he explodes into a rage. Not just verbally, either; he can get physical, punching or even kicking whoever's earned his ire, and that's if he likes them. It's his default reaction to unpleasant stimuli, and even pleasant stimuli sometimes. (Most notably seen in the way that all Gehenna citizens want little more than to be kicked about by Satan, to the point that it's seen as a reward instead of punishment.) Negative Trait: Possessive. It's not his cardinal sin, certainly, but Satan's possessive over those he cares about, especially the descendant of Solomon. They travel all over Hell, and have sex with many of the devils as they go, and although Satan's not monogamous by any stretch (and has no expectations of monogamy for anyone he's with), he still flies into a jealous rage whenever someone 'takes' what he views as his. He's even shown travelling to other countries just to find the MC and reclaim them, berating other kings for stealing them away. He's also quite possessive of his beloved motorbike, his precious steed into battle; he's shown with an album of over six thousand pictures of it, and tends to it almost obsessively. Negative Trait: Overly honest. Devils are, for the most part, completely unable to lie. They can certainly learn (and two have, due to exposure to angels, who can lie and do), but by and large, there's simply no desire to. This obviously leads to awkwardness quite often, and means that he trusts others almost implicitly, even if they're angelic. When the angel Samael infiltrates Gehenna to try and save his lover Nina from a gory fate, it's pretty much telegraphed blatantly that he's a traitor when he joins up with Satan and his gang to protect Solomon's child, but Satan and his devils don't even consider this obvious lack of trustworthiness. Even to the end, when it's clear that Samael's an angel and not a devil as he'd pretended to be, there's no disbelief, no idea of not trusting what he's saying (and no sign of Satan reading his mind to confirm the truth for himself). Satan trusts him even as a threat to someone he cares about quite a lot. Powers and Abilities: Mind-reading: implied, and it just seems to be at a surface level of what someone's thinking, if anything. He also only uses it to be a smartass, thankfully. Blood-crafting: if he drinks the blood of someone else, depending on the strength of their fondness for him, he can craft varying items, from blood diamonds to gigantic weaponry. Naturally, the weaponry part will be taken down from something 6 times his size to being a pipe, no matter how much someone likes him or not. The items can also disappear at his will, or at least that's the implication. Wrath: as the King of Wrath, Satan derives strength from the anger of others, as well as his own anger. This'll be nerfed just into giving him a little boost, no matter how much anger is in the air. (or if you have better ideas, I'm all ears!) Form changing: Satan can change from his humanoid form into a far larger, more demonic form. However, this'll be shorter (because it's HUGE otherwise), maxing out at about 2.5 metres. Inventory: a torn mouthguard, a phone with a fancy, horned case, and keys for his motorbike. Which he does not have access to, and which will tear him up inside to not have.
